KWA ensures supply of drinking water

Dedicated efforts are being undertaken by the Kerala Water Authority (KWA) to ensure adequate supply of drinking water to the flood-affected areas in the State.

The KWA has transported 1,60,720 lakh litres of water to the Pathanamthitta and Kottayam districts.

Water was being supplied through tanker lorries and in bottles.

The KWA control room has informed that 1,27,000 litres of water was supplied to Pathanamthitta alone within a day commencing on 5 p.m. on Saturday. Besides, 64,000 litres of drinking water was supplied to Kottayam.

Water was being supplied in tanker lorries in areas where normal supply has been disrupted.

Moreover, bottled water was being distributed in relief camps.

The KWA has also been supplying water to areas in Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram districts that have been facing shortage in drinking water.

Around 17,000 litres of water was supplied in tankers to the affected regions and relief camps in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. A large quantity of 35,000 litres of water was also supplied in various parts of Kollam.
