KSCDC Chairman S. Jayamohan flagging off two container loads of cashew kernels processed by the KSCDC for export.

After a gap of four years, the public sector Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation (KSCDC) on Tuesday despatched two container loads of cashew kernels for export from here. KSCDC Chairman S. Jayamohan, who flagged off the consignment, said it was a positive indication that the company is reviving.

The last export the company did was in 2013. Tuesday’s export is meant for Dubai and it comprised about 30,000 kg of kernels, all processed at KSCDC factories.

The export will be from the Kochi port. The ‘CDC’ brand cashew kernels enjoy much demand in the domestic market. Mr. Jayamohan said efforts are being taken to popularise the brand in the export market as well.
