The ‘Kid Glove’ project of the State Police got to a fascinating start on Monday with a magic trick transporting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s wrist watch, which he had entrusted with State Police Chief Loknath Behera, into a locked box kept in the possession of students.
Chief Minister seemed visibly amused at the trick, as magician Gopinath Muthukad charmed the audience with the trick.

Mr Vijayan used the occasion to remind the children that it is for them to guard against the pitfalls in the cyber space. “During my childhood days, we used to learn things by observing or asking questions to our elders. Elders used to teach us things. But, now a situation has come we where elders must learn things from you. Most elders are not able to keep up with the advancement in technologies and that leads to us seeking the help of young children. Some children, due to lack of proper guidance, find themselves in undesirable places. There are instances of children committing grave crimes. Some spread hoax news and indulge in blackmailing and cyberbullying. This creates a situation where children who should be in schools are on their way to jail cells. That is the last thing we want,” he said.
The Chief Minister launched the ‘Kid Glove’ project by switching on the Cyberdome drone at Christ Nagar School, Nanthancode. K. Muralidharan, MLA, chaired the function. Inspector General of Police Manoj Abraham, who is also the nodal officer of the project, State Child Rights Commission chairperson Sobha Koshy, Fr. Joseph Vattapparambil, the manager of Christ Nagar Schools, Jessy Joseph, deputy director of education, DIG Shefin Ahammad, Fr. Sony Palathara, Fr. Binu, Dr K.P. Jayaprakash were also present.
