A 34-year-old man was arrested on Saturday on charge of sexually harassing a minor girl over a week ago at Chowara, near Vizhinjam. The accused has been identified as Kunjumon, who hails from Chowara in Kottukal.
The police said he had been absconding after having sexually abused a 10-year-old girl who was on her way to school. “He picked up the child after promising her a lift in his car to her school. He later sexually violated the minor after parking his car in a deserted area in Chowara. He later left the child nearby and warned her of dire consequences if she reported the incident to anyone,” a police official said.
