Focus on perils of digital world

A seminar on the topic ‘Threats in the digital world’ was organised at Navajeevan Bethany Vidyalaya on Wednesday as part of a science exhibition ‘Creations 2014-15’.

K. Muraleedharan, MLA, inaugurated the seminar in which students from different schools in the city participated.

N. Vijaya Kumar, Dy.SP of the Cyber Cell, conducted a class on the use and misuse of mobile phones and social media by the younger generation. He revealed the threats hidden behind such media and shared tips to use these devices wisely.

The second session by Sanal Kumar, Dy.SP of the Crime Branch, was an interactive session on how people can help police to eradicate piracy in the digital world. He emphasised the need for removing hesitation from people’s minds to reach the police in times of need.

Principal James Varghese Illitharayil emphasised the need for organising such events to give proper awareness to children.
