Fishermen back from Seychelles

After spending more than a month in the custody of Seychelles authorities, 19 fishermen from Kerala and Tamil Nadu reached home on Wednesday.

Out of the 19, eight belong to Poovar here and the others are from Kanyakumari, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said.They were detained by the Seychelles authorities for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line on January 29.

Two captains of the boat, which set off from Kochi on January 15, were still in the custody of Seychelles and efforts were on to secure their release, Mr. Chandy said. — PTI
