Family health programme inaugurated at Air Force Station in Thiruvananthapuram

Aim of the programme was to detect the prevalence of undiagnosed lifestyle diseases among the apparently healthy families

Teji Singh, Air Force Wives Welfare Association president, inaugurates theSwasth Sangini programme at the Air Force Station at Akkulam inThiruvananthapuram on Thursday.

‘Swasth Sangini,’ a family health programme for the wives of air warriors of the Air Force Station, Akkulam here, was inaugurated at the Station Medicare Centre by Teji Singh, president (regional) of the Air Force Wives Welfare Association, on Thursday.

A press note issued here said the aim of the programme was to detect the prevalence of undiagnosed lifestyle diseases among the apparently healthy families and to facilitate early treatment.

Wing Commander Annette Menezes delivered the welcome address and Air Commodore B.N. Das, who is also the Principal Medical Officer, Southern Air Command (SAC), delivered a lecture on ‘Women and lifestyle diseases,’ the press note said.

Group Captain S. Damodaran, Senior Medical Officer, SAC, thanked the participants of the camp. Fifty women were screened on the first day, the press note added.
