Ernst and Young to offer cybersecurity services

Ernst and Young (EY), a company specialising in assurance, tax, transaction, and advisory services, has launched a managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) at its unit here to offer cybersecurity services to its clients.

The new centre, established at the EY unit at the Kinfra Film and Video Park, near here, uses advanced analytics to predict and prevent cyber threats.

Hybrid model

The facility is equipped with a hybrid model of remote monitoring and onsite guidance to investigate cyber attacks and help anticipate future threats.

Speaking at the launch, Ken Allan, global information security leader, EY, said the company would invest more than $20 m over the next five years in the managed SOC.

He said EY would leverage the talent pool in Kerala to increase the workforce at the centre from the current 160 to 800 by 2020.

Later addressing the media, he said targeted cyber attacks had increased in number and sophistication, making it imperative for companies to evolve their ability to rapidly detect and respond to threats.

Scott Gelber, Partner, Information Security Centre of Excellence, EY, and Captain Krishna Lal, Leader, Cyber Threat Management, EY, were present.

Binu Koshy, Partner, EY, and P.H. Kurian, Principal Secretary, IT, Government of Kerala, were among those who participated in the launch ceremony.
