The State unit of CPI(M) has raised Rs.2.35 crore for the relief of Nepal earthquake victims. A CPI(M) statement said here on Wednesday that the party’s campaign to raise funds for Nepal quake relief had elicited overwhelming response from the people and that the party was able to raise Rs.2,35,79,303. The highest amount of Rs.36.39 lakh was raised by Ernakulam, followed by Kannur (Rs.34.42 lakh), Thiruvananthapuram (25 lakh), Kozhikode (Rs.20.77 lakh) and Kollam (Rs.20.72 lakh). – Special Correspondent
