The Excise Department has opened round-the-clock control rooms at district and taluk headquarters to deal with manufacture and sale of illicit liquor during Onam season.
Stringent measures are also initiated to survey licensed bars, toddy shops, and outlets selling Ayurvedic medicines to prevent the sale of illicit liquor, said a department release.
Excise officials have been posted in border areas and the special drive would be carried out in all places till September 19.

The release said the identity of persons sharing information about manufacture and sale of illicit liquor would be kept confidential.
