Collector’s directive

The District Collector has ordered the immediate removal of arches erected across main thoroughfares in the city. The Collector issued the directive to the Executive Engineer, National Highways wing, Public Works Department; the Managing Director of the Road Fund Board; Secretary, city Corporation; and the Tahasildar.

The Collector also ordered the closure of a vegetarian hotel at Vanross Junction. The hotel did not have adequate space and customers parked their vehicles on the Bakery-Vanross junction stretch, causing traffic congestion, an official release said.
