City schools put up a commendable show in the Plus Two examinations, the results of which were declared on Wednesday.
The Government Vocational Higher Secondary School for the Deaf, Jagathy; Christ Nagar English Medium Higher Secondary School, Kowdiar; Sarvodaya Vidyalaya HSS, Nalachira; Carmel Girls HSS, Vazhuthcaud; and St. Thomas HSS, Mukolakkal, all had 100% pass.
Two students from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Pattom – Sandra J. Chandran and Sreeja J.S. secured 100% marks. Sharing the distinction with them were three girls from Carmel Girls HSS – Nerjas Meeran, Mathangi M., and Zeba S.

Kripa B. Venu and Krishna B. Venu from Government Model Boys HSS, Attingal; Niranjana S. Nair and Sunisha N.S. from Government Girls HSS, Nedumangad; Akhil Satheesh from Government HSS, Neduveli, Venjaramoodu; Chaithanya P.S. from Government HSS, Venjaramoodu; Parvana B.M. from Government Model HSS, Varkala; Gokul S. from VTM NSS Girls HSS, Dhanuvachapuram; Rishan M. Shiraz of Jyothi Nilayam HSS, Kazhakuttam; and Chandra D.S. of VPM HSS, Vellarada, were the other students in the district to get perfect scores.
Schools in the district with 100% results included Dr. Amar HSS, Kattela, Sreekaryam; SN HSS, Uzhamalakkal; Government Vocational HSS, Parassala; and Government Model HSS, Venganoor.
At St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Pattom, from where the maximum number of students – 802 - appeared for the examinations, the pass percentage was 94.91, up from last year’s 94.6.

The district recorded a pass percentage of 83, up from last year’s 81.91. Of the 32,774 students who sat for the examinations, 27,204 became eligible for higher studies. The number of those who secured A+ grade in all subjects was 1,196, a drop from last year’s 1,275.
In the technical school category, of the 90 students who appeared for the exam, 37 qualified. The pass percentage was 41.11.
In the open school category, of the 2,707 students who took the exam, 1,133 became eligible for higher education (41.85%).
One school from the district figured on the list of schools with pass percentage less than 30. This was PTM HSS, Maruthurkonam, with a pass percentage of 27.83.
Government HSS, Medical College, with a pass percentage of 27.15, was among the schools adopted by the department for special interventions.
VHSE section
In the vocational higher secondary section, of the 3,082 students who sat for the examination, 2,547 (82.64%) passed Part 1, 2 and 3 and became eligible for higher studies. This was up from last year’s 82.12.
Three students had A+ grade in all subjects – Resmi S. and Akshara R.S. of Government VHSS for Boys, Attingal; and Devika B. of Government VHSS, Malayinkeezhu.
Government VHSS & THS for Deaf, Jagathy, had 100% results in Part 1, 2, and 3. One school in the district had less than 50% result - Government VHSS, Kottukal (15.38%).
