October 11, 2013 01:03 pm | Updated May 28, 2016 06:05 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

Government Chief Whip P.C. George took his campaign against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to the United Democratic Front Liaison Committee meeting on Thursday by coming up with more allegations.

Participating in the UDF meeting, Mr. George said the Chief Minister had lost control over his Ministers. He also questioned the government stance on the State Data Centre case. Kerala Congress (B) chairman R Balakrishna Pillai, too, was sharp in his criticism.

The IUML leaders E.T. Mohammed Basheer and P.K. Kunhalikutty said the IUML did not intend to be a mere spectator to the attempts of certain Congress leaders to belittle and weaken it. Mr. George and M.M. Hassan, KPCC vice president, clashed with the IUML leaders maintaining that the Congress party knew how to handle its affairs.

In their concluding remarks, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala wanted the UDF leaders to sink their differences and work towards the coalition’s victory in the Lok Sabha election. Mr. Chennithala said he was inclined to bury all differences and work for victory in the parliamentary elections.
