The Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple here is all geared up for Lakshadeepam, the grand spectacle of lights marking the culmination of the 56-day Murajapam ceremony, on Tuesday night.
Anticipating a huge turnout, the authorities have issued nearly 20,000 free passes for entry into the temple on the day from 5 p.m. The entry will be closed at 7 p.m., Lieutenant Colonel (retd.) S R Bhuvanendran Nair, executive officer of the temple, said in a release.
The temple will be closed for darshan from noon. As devotees are allowed to leave the temple only after ‘seeveli’ at 9.30 p.m., the elderly and the sick are advised not to visit the temple for the ritual.

Devotees should use the parking facility available at the Attakulangara school grounds, Bhajanapura Palace, Vaikuntam, and Fort school grounds.
Free medical facility and ambulance service will be available near the east and the northern entrances to the temple.

Arrangements have been made to provide drinking water inside the temple premises. As entry is restricted on the Lakshadeepam day, on Wednesday and Thursday Lakshadeepam and ‘Poonnum Seeveli’ will be held, he said in the release. An elephant calf will be offered to Lord Padmanabhaswamy.
