Alert against water-borne diseases

The district health administration has renewed public health alert on infectious and water-borne diseases in the wake of renewed rainfall.

The public should take all precautions to prevent the onset of mosquito-borne diseases by ensuring that there is no water stagnation on their premises and that garbage is cleared regularly.

Damp clothes should not be hung in bedrooms. Only boiled water should be used for drinking and food should always be kept covered and consumed hot.

District health authorities cautioned people engaged in farming activities to be careful to take precautions not to come into direct contact with dirty or contaminated water.

H1N1 infection

Precautions should be taken against H1N1 infection, as the infection is still being reported from the community.
