Across South India in nine days

The Dakshin Maitrey Rally which was flagged off by Station Commander of Pangode Military Station Brigadier Samir Salunke in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.

A Dakshin Maitrey Rally (Multimode South India adventure- cum- perception management rally) was flagged off by Brigadier Samir Salunke, Station Commander, Pangode Military Station, from the Pangode 19 JAK Regiment Ground on Wednesday. The rally, part of the 50th Raising Day of the 96 Field Regiment, will travel through four southern States on motorcycle, bicycle and backwater rafting before culminating in Secunderabad, covering 2,100 km in nine days. Led by Lieutenant Anurag Varma, the rally is aimed at promoting national integration, motivating the youth of south India to join the armed forces, reaching out to the ex-servicemen and next of kin of valiant martyrs to render all possible support. The team will conduct road shows and seminars to sensitise rural youth to the role of the Indian Army and career opportunities in the Armed Forces. Pangode Military Station Deputy Commander Colonel C.S. Unnithan, 7 Madras Regiment Commanding Officer Colonel Dushyant Jolly and other officers were present.
