It was a homecoming, a time to relive the thrills and spills of school life. The 41st reunion of the Old Boys Association of the Sainik School, Kazhakkuttam, turned out to be a celebration on the campus on Saturday.
Many of the old boys, occupying top positions in the armed forces, turned up with their families for the event.
Lt. General G.M. Nair, Military Secretary and an alumnus of the institution, was the chief guest. On his arrival on the campus, he was presented with a guard of honour by the NCC contingent of the school.

The General laid a wreath at the Stupa of Remembrance. He later paid floral homage to two old students Lt. Col. N.J. Nair and Captain R. Harshan who laid down their lives for the nation.
Later in the day, the General inaugurated the renovated seminar hall on the school campus.
The old boys played friendly matches in cricket, basketball, volleyball and football with the students, adding festivity to the occasion.

Lt. Gen. Nair addressed a commemoration meeting held in the school auditorium. The masters of the school, past and present, were honoured by the old boys during the function.
The General also distributed prizes sponsored by the Old Boys Association to the cadets who excelled in academics, sports and games, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The programme was sponsored by the 1985 batch of the Sainik School.
