LPG bullet tanker cleared from accident site

After keeping its fingers crossed since Wednesday morning, Kollam city heaved a sigh of relief finally at 8.30 a.m. on Thursday when a crane began to lift the LPG bullet tanker lorry that fell on its side at Nellimukku at 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

In the impact of the accident the rotor gauge of the tanker got ruptured and LPG began to leak.

Police and fire and rescue service personnel were in tenterhooks since then. Since area of the accident was a thickly populated one, those living close to the accident site were evacuated. People in the vicinity had to go without power supply because of the LPG leak. They were also not to cook or light fire until the tanker was cleared from the site.
