Arts fete update on ‘Poomaram’

Mobile app will stream the contests live, give details of festival

The IT@School project has readied a mobile app Poomaram as part of its efforts to make the upcoming 57th State School Arts Festival a hi-tech affair.

A press note issued here said the app would have details of competitions at various venues, contests to be held and their scheduled time. The main attraction of Poomaram would be the live streaming of contests. The app can be downloaded from Google Playstore by clicking on the link ‘itschool poomaram,’ the press note said.

In addition to the live streaming, telecasts of ViCTERS channel can also be seen via the app. This time all festival-related activities — from registration to publication of results to printing of certificates — have been made online, the press note said.

The grouping of contestants into clusters, preparation of participant cards, reports to be given to team managers, timesheet for events, score sheets, and the tabulation of scores would be done via the portal

www.schoolkalolsavam.in . The live telecast of competitions from around 10 venues would be available in the portal.

The IT@School would upload onto the School Wiki(www.schoolwiki.in) entries in competition items such as story writing, poetry and painting once the results of these events have been announced. Arrangements have also been made to provide on real time, the results of various competitions via various social media including Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp.

The Kannur district administration too launched a mobile app, Kerala School Kalolsavam, on Android platform on Friday.
