‘Yede snana’ concludes at Kukke

Devotees throng Car Street to witness Brahma Rathotsava

Devotees performing ‘Yede Snana’ at Kukke Subrahmanya Temple on the occasion of Champa Shasti on Friday.

As many as 346 devotees performed Yede snana (rolling over left over food eaten by cows on plantain leaves) at Kukke Subrahmanya Temple during the annual Champa Shasti on Friday.

The three-day event concluded on Friday. In all, 94 devotees performed it during Chauti on Wednesday and 333 devotees did it during Panchami on Thursday.

The Brahma Rathotsava was held early on Friday. Devotees from different parts of the State and the country thronged Car Street to witness it. The Brahma Ratha, or the chariot, is said to be one of the oldest and is pulled only once a year, during the annual festival.

The Avabhrutotsava will be held in Kumaradhara in the town on Saturday as part of the annual ritual.
