Two chains snatched in two days

The incident of snatching of chain continued on Monday too.

On Monday afternoon Vatsala Kamat got down from the bus near Bondel Church and started walking towards her house in Gandhi Nagar around 1 p.m. A person talking on a mobile phone came near her and tried to snatch her gold chain. Ms. Kamat held her chain tightly and a part of the chain came in the hand of the thief. He then ran towards his accomplice waiting on a motorcycle and they went away. The Kavoor police have registered a case

On Sunday, two motorcycle-borne thieves went away with gold and pearl chains of Namita estimated at Rs. 60,000 in Tuppekal Argula village in Mangalore Rural police station limits on Sunday.

The police said thieves snatched Namita's chains while she was walking to her house along with her friend Bhavya around 2 p.m.

She had gone with Namita to attend marriage of her friend, the police said.
