The fourth edition of Krishi Yantra Mela (agricultural machinery fair) will be held in Puttur, Dakshina Kannada, for three days from February 23.
Organised jointly by the Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative Ltd., Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Vivekananda Polytechnic and Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Union Ltd, it will be held at the engineering college.
S.R. Satishchandra, president, Campco, told reporters here on Thursday that the objective is to showcase the latest farm machineries and technology to create awareness among farmers to go for machanised farming.

Machine manufacturers and innovators in the field of agrimachinery will showcase their products. The latest arecanut peeling machines, equipment related to dairy farming will be also on display.
Drones used in farming application and pepper separation unit will also be showcased.
There will be seminars on backyard farming, value addition in farming, profitability in dairy farming, and farming as a profession. In addition, a session on building low-cost houses will be conducted.

The latest equipment, raw materials and designs in constructing low-cost houses will be showcased.
“The main objective of organising the seminar on houses is to create awareness so that people would use the best of the available resources to build best quality homes,” he said.
The president said machines and equipment developed by high school and college students will be displayed at the mela to create interest among students in farming. The best innovative project by the students will be awarded.
According to Mr. Satishchandra many visitors from Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are expected to attend the mela.
