Schoolboy ends life in Kalladka

A 15-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Mani on Friday evening after being disciplined at his school in Kalladka.

According to the Vitla police, Kaushik, a class 10 student of Sri Rama High School, Kalladka, came home from the school on Friday evening and committed suicide when his family had gone out. His father is a daily-wage worker.

A complaint lodged by the family in the station stated that his teachers reprimanded him on Friday for taking two days’ leave and was asked to bring his parents to school to give an explanation.

Perturbed by this and the low marks he scored in the examination, the boy is said to have taken the extreme step.
