The Pilikula Biological Park has organised an essay and owl observation contest for higher primary and high school students on the occasion of ‘International Owl Awareness Day’.
The theme of both the competitions is ‘making the world a better place for owls’.

The competition is dedicated to recognise some of the threats that different species of owls face around the world and to conserve them.
The essay can be written in English or Kannada. It should not exceed 2,000 words. The essays should reach the Director of the park on or before August 17.
For owl observation contest, students should identify the owls found near house, garden, fields or forest area.

They should note their location and later write on their common names, behaviour during the observation in English or Kannada.
The observations should also reach the director by August 17.
Students should write complete details of their name, class, school and phone numbers.
