New DC promises efficient administration

N. Prakash took charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district on Monday. Prior to this, he was the Director (Personnel) in Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.

Addressing presspersons later, Mr. Prakash said he would strive to give “good” and “efficient governance”. “We shall emphasise on implementation of government programmes. Bringing in efficiency is a challenge as there are various levels right from Village Accountants to the Deputy Commissioner which needs to be monitored, coordinated,” Mr. Prakash, who succeeds N.S. Channappa Gowda added.

Mr. Prakash said the ban on plastics would continue with proper monitoring machinery to ensure its efficacy.

Mysore-born Mr. Prakash was promoted to the IAS rank in 2011.
