A new bus shelter built under the Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan of Ramakrishna Mission was inaugurated at Jeppinamogaru here on Sunday.

Swami Vedanishthanandaji of Ramakrishna Ashram, Rajkot, inaugurated it during the 27th shramadan of the last phase of five-year cleanliness drive of the mission in the city.

The mission said in a release that earlier people had to wait for long in the Sun and rain for buses on the National Highway 66 at Jeppinamogaru. The shelter was built on request by the Police Department and local people. Attractive seats to sit upon, roof, concrete floor and boards conveying the message of cleanliness around has made the shelter now more attractive.

Meanwhile, some saplings were also planted in the Jeppinamogaru area.
