President of Family Doctors Association K. Mohandas Bhandary (64) was found dead in the well on the premises of his house in Padil on Wednesday.
Dr. Bhandary’s driver said he called the Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who rushed in but could not rescue him. A post-mortem was conducted, but police have ruled out any foul play.
A medical professional close to Dr. Bhandary said the doctor had cut off communication with friends for the past 15 days and had switched off his mobile phone.

Dr. Bhandary is survived by his wife Lalitha, sons Nithish M. Bhandary, Associate Professor of Medicine, AJ Institute of Medical and Dental Sciences,. Nishan M. Bhandary, consultant psychiatrist in the UK and Nischith M. Bhandary, an engineer with a private firm.
