Civic activists staged a dharna at Nanthoor Circle on Thursday protesting against lack of rainwater drainage, footpaths and streetlights.
People from Maroli, Nanthoor, Bikarnakatta, Kadri, Jayashree Gate, Shakthinagar, Kulashekar participated in the dharna.
According to Vasanth Kumar Shetty, who led the protest, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) was yet to complete the construction of a roundabout at Nanthoor despite beginning the work a year ago.

He said the rainwater drainages on the Bikarnakatte Road which joins the circle were not laid scientifically. Rainwater flows on the road and footpath as the drains are at a higher level.
Mr. Shetty said pedestrians were splashed with muddied water thanks to speeding vehicles.

Demanding that the size of the roundabout be reduced, Mr. Shetty said, this could help in decreasing traffic congestion.
The protesters withdrew their dharna in the afternoon after an official from the NHAI met them and promised to take action on their demands.
Councillors Roopa D Bangera and Sabitha Miskith also met the protesters. Mr. Shetty said the civic activists set the NHAI a three-month deadline to sort out the issues. If they failed to solve them by the end of this year we will intensify our agitation, he said.
