Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP candidate from Dakshina Kannada constituency, said here on Saturday that he hopes to get more votes from the Mangaluru Assembly constituency in the Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a meeting of ‘page pramukhs’ of the party at Thokkottu, Mr. Kateel claimed that there is a wave in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi across the country. Unlike the 2014 elections when the party got votes less than the Congress in Mangaluru Assembly segement, this time he is hopeful of getting good lead in the segment.
“By getting me elected, the voters will help in giving another five-year term to Mr. Modi as Prime Minister,” Mr. Kateel said.

The Union government has helped people across the communities with schemes such as Ayushman Bharath, Ujwala Yojana and Mudra scheme, he said.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Kota Srinivas Poojary called upon the ‘page pramukhs’ to ensure that all voters in their area cast their votes by 10.30 a.m. on April 18.
“You need to ensure that our party wins in each of your areas which will help in Mr. Kateel winning the seat with good margin,” he said.
