Heggade opens Mangalore Dasara

Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala D. Veerendra Heggade formally inaugurated ‘Mangalore Dasara’ at the splendidly lit up Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Kshethra Thursday.

Offers prayers

The former Union Minister B. Janardhana Poojary and other dignitaries took him and around the temple where he offered prayers at all the shrines within the Kshethra, including the newly inaugurated Shirdi Sai Baba temple. The guests lit the lamp symbolising the formal opening of this year’s edition of Mangaluru Dasara.

In his address, Mr. Heggade compared the devotion shown by Mangaloreans in the celebrations and decorations to the magnificence of Mysore Dasara. The Gokarnanatheshwara Kshethra also marked its anniversary of 101 years amid the festivities.
