Members of the All India Central Council of Trade Union (AICCTU) taking out a rally to mark May Day in Mangaluru on Monday.

Various organisations and trade unions observed May Day commemorating workers rights across the district and also in the city.

On the occasion, Mangaluru South MLA J.R. Lobo inaugurated Karmikara Katte at the Bunder Wholesale Market at a programme organised by Bunder Hamali Karmikara Sangha.

Inaugurating the programme, Democratic Youth Federation of India president Muneer Katipalla regretted that labour laws in the country are being diluted while governments are becoming slaves of corporates. It is high time that all workers get united and fight against such moves, he said. Mr. Lobo complimented the workers saying without them society would not function.
