Govt. opens working women’s hostels

The Women and Child Development Department has opened 13 transit hostels for single women visiting Bengaluru for job interviews and entrance examinations, as announced in the 2018-19 budget.

The hostels offer free boarding and lodging and safe stay up to three days without any conditions of income, a release here said.

The hostels are Karnataka State Council for Child Welfare’s Working Women’s Hostel (23330846, 22925898); Sri Sharada Kuteera Working Women’s Hostel, Shankarapuram (26674697); Young Women’s Christian Association Working Women’s Hostel (22238574); University Women’s Association Working Women’s Hostel (22223314, 26631838, 9845023783); Mahatma Gandhi Vidyapeetha Working Women’s Hostel (26662226); Jayanagara Sthree Samaja Working Women’s Hostel (26674697); All-India Women’s Conference Working Women’s Hostel (26349676); Basava Samiti Basava Working Women’s Hostel (22723355); Vishal Vidya Samsthe Working Women’s Hostel (9341289653); Karnataka Rural Poor and Handicapped Development Society Working Women’s Hostel, Peenya; National Law School of India University Working Women’s Hostel; Young Women Christian Association Working Women’s Hostel (25634813), and Regional Institute of English South India Working Women’s Hostel (23213243, 23218452).
