Gastrointestinal Physiology Lab and Motility Clinic inaugurated

It will provide a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for areas of the digestive tract

The Gastrointestinal (GI) Physiology Lab and Motility Clinic was inaugurated at Kasturba Hospital here recently.

A press release issued here said that this facility will provide a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for areas of the digestive tract.

Inaugurating the clinic, Poornima Baliga, Pro Vice-Chancellor, MAHE, said: “Being a tertiary care medical college hospital, Kasturba Hospital is offering quality service to patients by adding more speciality and sub-speciality to its services.”

Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, recalled that the hospital installed manometry machines back in 1992.

Shiran Shetty, Head, Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Kasturba Hospital, gave the overview of the clinic. Rajesh Sainani, gastroenterologist, Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai, Pragna Rao, Dean, Kasturba Medical College, C.G. Muthana, Chief Operating Officer, Manipal Cluster, were present on the occasion.
