Four inter-state thieves arrested in Kumbla

Four members of an inter-state gang of burglars, who planned to loot an industrialist and a contractor in the district, were arrested at Kumbla, police said.

Ashraf (28) and Khasim (32), both from Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada district, Shamsuddin (35), a quarry owner from Ukkinadukka in Kasaragod, and Narayanan from Bangalore, were arrested. The arrests of members, who were said to have been involved in serious crimes in Kerala and Karnataka, followed after police managed to trap Ashraf from a quarters at Ukkinadukka on Wednesday, police said. The other three gang members, who were reportedly moving in a stolen car a few days ago near Kasaragod, were nabbed from Seethangoli locality here.
