A fisherman died after he fell off a boat about 30 nautical miles off Mangalore coast on Sunday.
According to fellow fishermen in the boat, Chandraiah Ameen (aged about 55) of Sultan Battery accidentally fell off the purse-seine boat named Gangadevi.
The boat with 30 fishermen had sailed out from old port at about 6 a.m. According to fellow fishermen in the boat Mr. Ameen fell while spreading the net in sea. Efforts to save him did not succeed.
