DKMUL’s ‘Mango Lassi’

Keeping in mind that in the competitive business environment, innovation holds the key to success, the district milk cooperative launched “Mango Lassi” in Mangalore on Friday.

Launched during the 59 annual All India Government Cooperatives Week celebrations at the Mangalore Dairy in Kulashekar, Dakshina Kannada District Co-operative Milk Producers Societies’ Union Limited (DKMUL) said the “healthy lassi” for Rs. 12 will be available through the year even though the fruit is seasonal.

Addressing the gathering, M. Shantaram Shetty, Pro-Chancellor of Nitte University, commended the move to popularise milk products, which he said, contained all basic nutrition. The events on Thursday saw the factory being given ISO 22000-2005 certificate for its production standards; inauguration of machinessuch as walk-in 10,000-litre freezer, two silos of 60,000-litre storage capacity and a 10,000-litre pasteurisation machine.
