Rashmita, who scored 593 out of 600 marks in Commerce in the recently declared II PU results of Karnataka, was felicitated at Sharada Vidyalaya’s Pre University college, Mangaluru, where she studied, on Saturday.
Mangalore University Vice-Chancellor K. Byrappa presented Ms. Rashmita the appreciation certificate of Governor Vajubhai Vala at a ceremony organised at the college premises here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Byrappa said that acculturation at home would decide the personality of an individual and thereby contribute to the growth of society. It helps a person achieve something in life, he said.

Karnataka Bank’s Senior General Manager P. Jayaram Hande presented Ms. Rashmita a cash award of Rs. 10,000 on behalf of the bank on the occasion. Sharada Vidyalaya Chairman M.B. Puranik, PU College Principal Shreepati Rao and others were present.
