Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt said on Monday that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was not visiting the Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple because some intellectuals had pressured him into doing so.

Speaking to presspersons here, the seer said that some intellectuals did not like the Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple or the Pejawar Mutt. Hence, they had put pressure on the Chief Minister not to visit the Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple. “This has nothing to do with the saint-composer Sri Kanakadasa,” he said.

This was because he had invited him several times earlier and Mr. Siddaramaiah had not responded to it. “What is the point in inviting someone when the person is not interested?” he said.

When it was pointed out that Mr. Siddaramaiah had said that he had no issues with the seer, Vishwesha Tirtha Swami said that he had earlier met Mr. Siddaramaiah on different occasions.

“I had met him once at an airport. I had met him at another time at a function, where we were seated next to each other and had a long talk,” the seer recalled.
