Change in ESIC contribution date

The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has changed the last date for payment of ESI contribution effective from July 1.

Accordingly, the contribution has to be paid within 15 days from the end of a calendar month. As per the amendment brought to the Regulation 31 of ESI (General) Regulations, 1950, the last date for payment of contribution to ESIC by employers without interest and penalty for particular month is the 15th day of the subsequent month. This is effective from contribution payable for June 2017. Contribution for June has to be paid latest by July 15, according to a release by Sivaramakrishnan S., Deputy Director, in-charge, ESIC, Sub Regional Office, Mangaluru.
