The District Kambla Samiti said buffaloes participating in different Kambalas here have features that suits running.
This will be placed before the Karnataka High Court where a petition has been filed questioning ban on Kambala, a buffalo race in slushy paddy fields.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Gunapal Kadamba, an office bearer of the Samiti and who runs Kambala Academy, said unlike buffaloes from other parts of country the local breed that take part in Kambala have physical structure that was made for running.

These buffaloes run on their own without being hit, he claimed.
“We will ask the High Court to set up an expert committee and study this aspect,” Mr. Kadamba said.
The Supreme Court in its order banning Jallikattu and other performances by animals has observed that buffaloes were draught animals meant to carry loads and not running. Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district administration has barred conduct of Kamblas following this Supreme Court order.
