Auto fares increased

The Regional Transport Authority, Dakshina Kannada, has revised travel fares of autorickshaws in the city with effect from October 2.

Minimum fare

Accordingly, the minimum fare for the first 1.5 km distance is Rs. 17. The fare for every one km distance thereafter is Rs. 12. Earlier, they were Rs. 15 and Rs. 11, respectively.

Waiting charges were not applicable for the first 15 minutes, but between 15 and 45 minutes waiting charges would be 25 per cent of the metered fare.

Timings

The drivers could collect the fare one-and-half times more than the metered fare within the jurisdiction of Mangalore City Corporation between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. The drivers must get their metres updated by October 31, according to a release
