Two Mangaloreans return with Gold medals

Two Mangaloreans, who won gold medals in the recently concluded international powerlifting championship, will return to the city on Thursday.

Vijaya Kanchan and Akshata Poojarthi won two gold medals each in the World Bench press, Dead Lift, Powerlifting Championships 2014 held at Las Vegas, US. The championship was held from October 17 to October 20.

According to Sathish Kumar Kudroli, Honorary Secretary of Karnataka Powerlifting Association, the two sportspersons will be coming by a flight from Mumbai to the Mangalore International Airport around 2.30 p.m. on Thursday. The Association will felicitate the two sportspersons at the airport, he said.
