MLA seeks overhaul of voters’ list

The present voters list is riddled with errors, and the Election Commission should reissue a new voters list, said MLA U.T. Khader here on Monday.

Mr. Khader told presspersons that in the list of voters prepared by the Union Government and the State Election Commission, the booth numbers had been printed wrong – citing the example of the Bantwal pudu booth number in place of Pavoor booth number — names that have been printed wrong, among many other errors. “The Deputy Commissioner has said he will look into this. However, as the old voters’ lists have not reached all teachers, and since time will be lost in the preparation of the new one, we have asked the Commission for an extension in the deadline for voters’ registration,” he said
