Crude oil consignment arrives in Mangalore

Cairn India Ltd., which is exploring for oil in Rajasthan, in collaboration with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd., will hand over the first consignment of 29,000 tonnes of crude oil on Friday to the city-based refinery.

N.C. Sreenath, Manager, Corporate Communications, Cairn India Ltd., told The Hindu that this would mark the beginning of the supply of crude oil to Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. (MRPL), as per the terms agreed to. Mr. Sreenath said that MRPL was one of the three companies to which the oil from Rajasthan was being supplied for processing.

Cairn India was processing 30,000 barrels of oil a day at the Mangala processing terminal at Barmer.
