The four-day Vibrant Tamil Nadu Food Edition Madurai 2018, which begins here on Sunday, would create better global awareness of the State, said Jagat Shah, president, Global Network, the person behind the Vibrant Gujarat event, on Friday.
Tamil Nadu's USPs, like the more number of manufacturing units, its high share in renewable energy generation in the country, its higher GDP and more importantly its culture, had not been showcased properly at the global level, he said.

Trade bodies were wonderstruck when these strengths were explained in road shows organised in over 20 countries as a preamble to Vibrant Tamil Nadu. The event, he was confident, would position Tamil Nadu at the global level and lead to bilateral and multilateral trade partnerships.
Dr. Jagat Shah felt that the USA, the largest consumer-nation in the world, was the right place for Tamil Nadu to go as it was a huge market for conventional food. He was hopeful that the annual Vibrant Tamil Nadu, a brand that would host annual summits on various themes with food being a separate permanent event, would soon be held in the US.
The Madurai edition, he said, would provide more opportunities to woman entrepreneurs, start ups and small and medium enterprises to work with global players. A unique arrangement was exposure to be given to local MBA students at the summit by tagging one student with a foreign delegate on all four days.

Earlier, addressing a press conference, K. Thirupathi Rajan, chairman, Vibrant Tamil Nadu, was confident that the summit would be a unique opportunity to make Tamil Nadu an international business destination.
S. Rethinavelu, senior president, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that 16 seminars to be conducted by international faculty would be of great benefit to local entrepreneurs.
The event would be formally inaugurated at the Ida Scudder Auditorium on the Ring Road by R.B. Udhayakumar, Revenue Minister, on Sunday.
The expo will be open to public between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Transport has been organised for visitors at regular intervals from Mattuthavani and Periyar bus stands.
