“Third front will emerge after Lok Sabha elections”

The State President of Janata Dal (Secular), Mohammed Ismail, has expressed confidence that a third front would emerge after the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, Mr. Ismail said that a third front comprising regional parties would form a stable government at the Centre.

Criticising the Congress government for its failed economic policies, he said that the party had been working for the welfare of corporate giants such as Reliance and not for the poor. The citizens of India have lost trust in the Congress-led UPA government.

According to sources, in States where elections are underway, the Congress is losing ground in strongholds. It is a clear indication that people want a change in regime, Mr. Ismail said.

He blamed the Congress for working hand-in-glove with Reliance in creating artificial scarcity of natural gas and fixing prices, he alleged.

Commenting on AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha’s recent verbal attack on BJP, he said it shows her insecurity about winning a substantial number of seats in the parliamentary elections. The political scenario is changing in the State, he added.

“We will ensure that neither BJP nor Congress comes to power,” said John Moses, State General Secretary, JD(S).

Further, he assured that the party would strive for the welfare of those who voted them to power.

The JD (S) candidates are contesting in three constituencies which include Tiruvannamalai, Namakkal and Krishnagiri.

Besides, the party has announced its support to Communist candidates in 18 constituencies in the State.
