Application forms are available with the office of Chief Educational Officer

Schools that fail to set apart 25 per cent of their seats for disadvantaged children in compliance with the Right to Education Act, 2009, face the prospect of losing their official recognition, warned District Collector C.Samayamoorthy.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Mr.Samayamoorthy said application forms were available with the office of the Chief Educational Officer near the Collectorate. Completed forms along with relevant documents should reach the office by June 10.

The CEO’s office will forward the applications to the schools concerned for admission to the 25 per cent of seats set apart under the Act. If the number of applications received by a particular school exceeds 25 per cent of the available seats, admissions will be conducted by drawing lots.
