School gets centum results, teachers get gold ring

Commendable:Toppers and teachers of Kalloorani Government School, who were felicitated for their achievement.

Hardworking students who bagged State ranks hit the headlines last month after the tenth public exam results were out. Likewise, two days ago, a group of seven teachers of the Kalloorani Government School in Sivaganga district, who were responsible for bringing laurels to their institution, was honoured by the woman panchayat president with gold rings.

Encomiums showered

Participating in large numbers at a function, the students, their parents and villagers showered encomiums on the teachers, with whose efforts the school recorded centum pass.

All the 38 students who appeared for the examination had passed. The school topper Lavanya scored 472 marks, Indumathi 467 and Malathi secured 465 marks. They were presented with cash awards of Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000 respectively. Apart from this, 16 students, who had scored over 400 marks, received Rs. 1,500 each. Children who had scored below 400 marks also received medals for their efforts.

Gold rings

The panchayat president, Meenakshi Mohankumar, presented gold rings and felicitated the Headmaster, Udayakumar, teachers Bhanumathi, Pichaimani, Edwin Selvaraj, Rathijula Florence, Rajeswari and Ramkumar.

The villagers appreciated the students and teachers for their commendable achievement. The womenfolk present also took a pledge to send their wards to school and hoped the village would repeat the performance every year. Former public prosecutor Mohankumar proposed a vote of thanks.
