Road Safety Week begins

The 26th Road Safety Week celebrations, organised by the Regional Transport Office and the Madurai City traffic police, began on Sunday at Mattuthavani bus terminus.

Minister for Cooperation Sellur K. Raju flagged off a vehicle rally to create awareness of the importance of road safety and following road rules. A photo exhibition was inaugurated.

Mayor V.V. Rajan Chellappa and MP R. Gopalakrishnan were present.

The Road Safety Week will be celebrated till January 21 through awareness programmes at public places and competitions for school and college students.
