Rajaji Children’s Park reaps highest bid

MADURAI

The Madurai Corporation-owned Rajaji Children’s park, located opposite Gandhi Museum here, has reaped the highest bid of ₹83.55 lakh for eight months, during the annual auction of Corporation-owned properties, held on the Corporation premises on Tuesday.

Last year also, the park bagged the highest bid of ₹80.4 lakh. The Corporation earned a total of ₹2 crore as the proceedings from the auction on Tuesday. A total of 48 items were under auction, out of which 28 were sold for lease during the auction on Tuesday. The remaining items are set to go under auction on Wednesday.

The parking lot at Mattuthavani bus stand earned the second highest bid of ₹47.8 lakh, for eight months. Last year, the parking lot was sold at ₹46.47 lakh and did not see much of an increase this year.
